I may be in some trouble...

This was Josh's first week of school.  And yesterday he came home with his first ever journal prompt.  It was "Hopes & Dreams for the new school year".
Alright.  So I read it.
Last year my favorite thing about school was: I really liked recess.
Last year the thing I liked the least was: We took lots of tests.
This year I am going to work on: I want to be the most popular kid in school.
Illustration:
Me: Josh who is this a picture of?
Josh: That's me. (points to the boy in the middle)
And those are 2 girls who are in love with me because I'm so popular.
Me: Oh.
Funny?  Yes.  But at the same time I want him to know popularity isn't everything!  I don't want him to try to be friends with the wrong people!
Moms...any suggestions?

*Update: He's 9!  :) Thanks for all the answers - keep 'em coming! :) They are so appreciated!!

how old is he? and no I wouldn't worry..the only reason I asked is b/c my 5 year old says things like that all the time..like I WUV GURLS! lol...We try to encourage saving the words LOVE for family and his future wife, but he's quite independent! lol...just keep gently persuading him in the right direction..he'll get there! ;)

I am not sure how old your son is but I wouldn't be to concerned. Just be sure to talk about what the word "popular" means, explain that true friends like you regardless. Sounds like he just wants to be liked.

Cute story and picture, my daughter thought she had a boyfriend in first grade. Makes me wonder how their little minds work. Your son has great aspirations, if he believes it, it will be true right? Thanks for linking up with me for Bloggy Con - can't wait to meet you there!
